The Republic of Mordovia and the Moskvich Automobile Plant signed a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Elena Frolova, General Director of JSC MAZ Moskvich. The agreement provides, among other things, for expanded cooperation and the development of transportation projects in the Republic.

At SPIEF 2026, the Republic of Mordovia and Sber have agreed to jointly develop foreign economic cooperation and expand the region’s export potential. The cooperation agreement was signed by Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Mikhail Chachin, Vice President and Director of the Public Sector Department at Sberbank PJSC. The parties are launching a joint programme for digitalising exports and supporting local producers — without financial obligations, but with full legal transparency.

The 4th Annual Land Forum “Mastor” was held in Saransk
The fourth annual Land Forum “Mastor” took place in Saransk. It was organised by the Government of the Republic of Mordovia with the support of the Regional Development Corporation. The event brought together representatives of federal and regional authorities, the business community, and the academic sphere, as well as delegates from five countries: the Republic of Belarus, the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Its main theme was "From Points on the Map to Points of Growth: Combining Technological and Financial Initiatives." Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum," emphasized: "Today, Russia is a country with a population of over 150 million people, comprising 89 regions and 153,000 settlements. Since 2022, the country's development priorities have shifted – we are more focused on the East, the Pacific region, and Asia. This has significantly impacted all our plans. Mordovia is ready to expand its exports to Uzbekistan
On May 15, on the sidelines of the International Economic Forum "Russia – Islamic World: Kazan Forum," Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, met with Jamshid Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan is one of Mordovia's key partners in Central Asia. Over the past four years, trade between the regions has grown more than 2.5 times, reaching almost $20 million by the end of 2025.
Medicines from Mordovia to be shipped to Egypt and the UAE
On the sidelines of the Russia — Islamic World forum in Kazan, the Mordovia team is actively working to strengthen international ties. During a meeting between Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Ahmed El‑Sobki, Chairman of the Health Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt, pharmaceutical partnership was discussed. “Mordovia’s economic case can be seen as a model: you have managed to significantly improve the economic situation and reduce the debt burden in a short time,” emphasised Ahmed El‑Sobki. “We had a chance to get acquainted with your companies at the stand. We were particularly impressed by the pharmaceutical industry.”
