The Head of Mordovia took part in the plenary session of SPIEF‑2026
On June 5, the Head of Mordovia, Artem Zdunov, took part in the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). The SPIEF is held under the patronage and with the participation of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It is a leading platform for communication between representatives of government and business circles, as well as for discussing key economic issues. This year’s forum theme — “Pragmatic Dialogue — the Path to a Stable Future” — reflects the fundamental demands of the current stage of development. Among the participants are more than 20 thousand people from 130 countries around the world.
Five years ago, on the initiative of the President of Russia, the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives was established in the country — a channel for grant support of creative teams. Over these years, the PFCI has become a functioning mechanism that connects authors, businesses, regions, and, most importantly, millions of people who become participants and spectators of the supported projects. On June 5, at the St. Petersburg International Forum, one of the sessions was dedicated to the activities of the PFCI — from grant support to systemic changes in the creative industries. Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, took part in this session.
Mordovia climbs 13 spots in regional rankings for PPP development
Based on the results of 2025, the Republic of Mordovia significantly improved its position in the annual ranking of Russian regions by public-private partnership (PPP) development, moving up 13 spots to 37th place. The ranking was prepared by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development based on three indicators: the dynamics of PPP project implementation in the reporting year, the accumulated experience of implementing such projects in previous years, and the effectiveness of regional governments and their level of involvement in PPP projects.
SPIEF: Artem Zdunov and Alexey Miller signed a new roadmap
On June 5, on the sidelines of the SPIEF, Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, signed a new roadmap to expand the use of the region's high-tech products for Gazprom. The document builds on the previous roadmap and covers 2026-2028. Its goal is to increase the republic's scientific, technical, and industrial potential for the benefit of Gazprom and the Russian fuel and energy sector.
The Republic of Mordovia and Napitki Vmeste confirmed the development of a long-term partnership at the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Artem Zdunov, Head of the Republic, and Nikolai Tyurnikov, CEO of the company, set priorities for 2026: modernizing the Saransk plant and launching an educational program at N.P. Ogarev Moscow State University.
SPIEF: Mordovia and STM Sign Agreement to Establish Trolleybus Assembly Facility
At the SPIEF, Artem Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, and Alexander Misharin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sinara – Transport Machines (STM), signed a memorandum of intent to implement an investment project in the Republic to establish an assembly production complex. The complex is planned to produce Sinara 6254 trolleybuses for Saransk and other Russian cities. The Republic of Mordovia will provide a production site for the project and the necessary organizational and legal support. STM will organize production, including the supply of vehicle kits, installation of the necessary technological equipment, personnel training, and technical support.
Mordovia Improves Its Position in the National Investment Climate Ranking
Mordovia confirmed its status as one of the most comfortable regions for doing business, entering the top 10 of the National Investment Climate Ranking. The results of the annual study were announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). According to the final assessment, the region ranked eighth, sharing the same position with the Smolensk Region. As a reminder, a year earlier, Mordovia ranked ninth.
A working meeting between Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Sergei Dankvert, Head of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, took place on the sidelines of the SPIEF. The discussion focused on expanding the export of agricultural products from Mordovia. It was noted that Mordovia is fully self-sufficient in basic food products and has significant export potential. For certain products, 40% to 80% of the total production volume is exported outside the region.
SPIEF: Mordovia and Rosselkhozbank Expand "Organic Food for Children" Project
At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 4, Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Boris Listov, Chairman of the Management Board of Rosselkhozbank, signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing organic agriculture, supporting domestic organic producers, and fostering a healthy eating culture. Specifically, this concerns the expansion of the "Organic Food for Children" project. Mordovia is currently among the top ten regions in the country in terms of the number of certified organic producers. Eight organic producers operate in the region, and the state support system provides additional incentives for businesses that have achieved the appropriate certification.
In Mordovia, a full‑cycle production of drugs for rare diseases will be established
At the St. Petersburg Forum, Artem Zdunov, Head of Mordovia, and Pyotr Bely, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Promomed PJSC, took part in signing an agreement between the Industry Development Fund (IDF) and the Biokhimik plant, which is part of the Promomed Group of Companies. The document on granting a льготный loan (preferential loan) to Biokhimik for establishing production of medicines for rare (orphan) diseases was signed by Roman Petrutsa, Director of the IDF, and Alexander Efremov, General Director of Promomed PJSC.
SPIEF: Artem Zdunov and Andrey Ryumin Discussed Development of Mordovia's Electric Grid Complex
Artem Zdunov, Head of the Republic of Mordovia, and Andrey Ryumin, CEO of PJSC Rosseti, held a meeting at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. It was noted that the efficient work of energy companies provides a reliable foundation for the region's economic and social development. The possibility of strengthening cooperation, including in industrial cooperation, was discussed.
On June 4, a panel session entitled "Regions in the Face of Global Challenges: How to Maintain Financial Stability and Stimulate Development" was held on the sidelines of the SPIEF, featuring Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov. The session discussed ways to improve cooperation between the federal center and the regions, how to most effectively stimulate economic development in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including investment activity, and whether mechanisms for treasury loans and regional debt write-offs need to be refined.
